Get Involved

This community is active and growing:

  1. We are writing a formal community response to the FTC and Commerce Department Papers.
  2. We began an interoperability and standards list.
  3. A site is live to track the people, organizations, publications and standards in the space.
  4. Winter and Spring events are coming together.

We are writing a response to the Federal Trade Commission White and Department of Commerce Green Papers (see links details below). Both of them don’t reference the potential for people to collect their own data and be at the center of linking data about them together. To join this, please subscribe to the general PDE list.

The Interoperability list is being led by Iain Henderson from Mydex which is running one of the first live personal data stores. If you are an implementor, please subscribe here.

We have started a site to track the people, companies organizations, publications and standards happening in the Personal Data Ecosystem space. I have started it off but it by no means comprehensive. Please feel free to contribute. If you are adding editing please join the general mailing list.
Some notes on using the structured wiki: If you want to see a particular page with its own link just click on the up. When you create a new card, select the type of page/card it is on the right hand side.  It is a structured wiki; we can add more types of pages/cards if need be.

Events where people focused on aspects of the Ecosystem will be gathering:

  • ID Collaboration Day before RSA February 14th in San Francisco.
  • New Digital Economies an STLPartners/Telco 2.0 event. Deep Dive Day: Igniting the Personal Data Ecosystem. April 7th in San Francisco and Telco 2.o May 12th in London (on the 3rd day of their regular conference).
  • Internet Identity Workshop #12 May 3-5 in Mountain View CA.

We also are looking at developing a Market Model with Value Network Mapping and Analysis. If you have questions or want to get more involved, please don’t hesitate to contact Executive Director Kaliya Hamlin: director (at) personaldataecosystem (dot) org. Or share via our website form.
