NSTIC

NSTIC is the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, "a White House initiative to work collaboratively with the private sector, advocacy groups, public sector agencies, and other organizations to improve the privacy, security, and convenience of sensitive online transactions." The government wants a way for people to be able to sign in to government sites without using government-issued identities.

This Document was published by the White house in April 2011. It outlines a vision for user-centric identity online.  

NSTIC (National Strategy on Trusted Identities in Cyberspace) National Program Office Announcement

January 7th, 2011 — Stanford, Palo Alto, CA Kaliya Hamlin and Mary Hodder attended the NSTIC National Program Office Announcement at Standford University. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and   Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and  White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt both spoke. Following this meeting, Kaliya wrote this article on her Fast Company Blog: National!
